Luminar 3 libraries update “delayed” and buggy

I’m hesitating to write about this company again since it seems they have a lot of issues left to work out other than an apparently very active marketing machine. However, because of the widespread affiliate marketing, it’s probably fair to issue some cautionary notes.

The libraries update was apparently rolled out gradually based on location, first in Australia and subsequently elsewhere, according to some users. Some users also expressed upset over the countdown clock on the website misrepresenting when the update would be available, interpreting this as a delay. More pressingly, however, many are now reporting that the new update is buggy to the point of freezing on launch.

Many suggest to avoid updating and wait for bug fixes.

You may read more positive things about Luminar elsewhere, but be aware that they have an affiliate marketing program and the people who are telling you nice things may directly benefit through providing a sell button. In forums, Luminar has been described as “beta” software, and it’s been alleged that it has long-standing bugs. The recent version “with libraries”, as I’ve reported, was found by many users in several forums to be particularly buggy. […]
